Question by dragonfly: any over the counter creams good for psoriasis?
Best answer:
Answer by itsmynaturekc
I’ve never found an OTC cream that worked. Ever.
What DOES work?:
Pine Tar Soap
Sunlight
Gentle exfoliation (don’t scrub the affected area)
And one cream I got from the doc, once, years ago. I can’t remember what it was called. But it was the ONLY one (in 25 years of treatments) that made any difference.

Question by me -n-the middle: What is a good remedy for psoriasis?
I have a severe form of psoriatic arthritis. I have come on a RX that alleviates the pain of the arthritis, but my skin is in very bad shape. ointments and creams have not helped. And we are talking about VERY expensive RX ointments. Any home remedies anyone has tried for extreme conditions that have worked?

My husband has Psoriasis and his doctors swears that Tanning beds help. He went a couple of times and it actually did seem to clear it up a bit. Its the ultraviolet rays.

Question by mango the first: What are some good home remedies for psoriasis?
A friend came and showed me a small patch on her arm and asked me to try to figure out some home remedies. She said creams from the doctor, and other things haven’t worked. I suggested olive oil, since vinegar and other things hadn’t worked. But what do you suggest. Thanks!

Question by PMS 24-7: What are good treatments for severe psoriasis and exzema?
My mom has bad areas on the soles of her feet, her fingers, her elbows, and other places. She sees a dermatologist, who gives her steroid creams and injections. They don’t last long, and she is starting to have side effects from the steroids = the moon face, etc. Does anyone know any other suggestions?

I’ve had exzema since I was a baby. I use hydrocortisone cream 1% added with my lotion (Eucerin works very well). This has been effective for me.
