Question by brittany!: Does light therapy work well for psoriasis?
i have psoriasis pretty bad on my legs, i’m currently only using creams right now (i plan on starting light therapy with a dermatologist once i start my new job with health benefits). i was just wondering if anyone has had light therapy for their psoriasis? if so, did it work well for you and what kind of improvements did you see? i’m just wondering if it just clears up the psoriasis itself or does it help reduce the scars too?

I went to a dermotoligist and had Atinic Light Therapy or also called PUVA treatments. I had severe phoriasis. After about 6 months of visits for treatment (3 times a week) Yes my phoriasis was pretty much gone. Very bad for you though……..the intense light therapy can cause a great risk for skin cancer. I will admit I had the greatest tan I ever had. After I stopped treament my phoriasis was starting to come back. There is no known cure……………There are new meds that lower your bodys immune system that supossed to treat phoriasis .but thats risky. I tend to just think the new sauves and plenty of TLC is the safe way. Its no fun…….I have had it for 40 yrs..comes and goes. Tension, Stress can cause flare ups
